Being a mother is the hardest yet most rewarding role we will ever play and most days at one point or another I'm sure we all wonder, 'How I will get through the day let alone all the mother years ahead of me.' It's in these times I remind myself there is always beauty in the chaos, even if sometimes we have to search hard for it.
Motherhood takes us to places that force us to become better versions of our self, always growing and evolving for ourselves and our children. We are here to learn and grow from one another, and whilst it isn't always easy. Is anything that is truly amazing in life ever easy? I think not.
Whether you are a new mum, or one that's been around the block a few times, I want you to know you aren't alone. We all feel so much of the same emotions, love, joy, heartache, anxieties, fear. We all want so deeply to love and protect our children. We all wonder if we're doing enough, if we're good enough.
Let me tell you! Yes you are. You are so enough. That beautiful little person chose you to be its mum, they picked you for a reason, your journey together, has only just begun. There will be magic times and hard times, but Mama you got this!
When you think that you've got no more strength to get through your baby's crying for the second consecutive hour, or your toddler is throwing tantrum after tantrum, or miss five - so independent and needs to do everything on her own with such sweet stubbornness, or your teen is giving you so much attitude you wonder if they can even see that you are a human being too... you get through, you persevere, you build resilience, and strength that you never knew was possible.
Things will get easier, then harder, then easier again. Every childhood age has its owns beautiful times and hard stressful times, and whilst the days are slow, the years fly by, so don't forget every now and then to really take a step back and reflect, marvel at the beautiful little beings you have created and the journey motherhood is taking you on.
Life always gives us what we need, every day we are all growing and evolving. Take the moments to truly treasure, those cuddles, the "I love you Mum's" and the hugs as they grow up way too fast.
Whatever stage you're at in your motherhood journey, whether it be pregnancy, birth preparation, new Mama or experienced Mama. I want you to know I am here for you, to support you in your journey. To help you through the challenging days and to marvel with you in your magic moments.
I am a Mama, a doula, a support system and a friend. I've got your back, at any time of day, just reach out. We all need support sometimes. Allow me to be yours, to share in your journey, to help you navigate the challenges of motherhood and to inspire you along the way.

"Meeting Alisha was synchronicity. Her presence and personality made me feel so at peace and calm from the first time we met and she left a lasting impression on me. When I fell pregnant I knew that I wanted the support of a nurturing woman and Alisha was the only person that came to mind! Being my third pregnancy I felt a bit left out in the wild by the system but with the help of Alisha and my midwife I had the birth I had always wished for. Her support throughout this journey - birth and beyond was irreplaceable. There was so much love, laughter and power at the birth of this baby - I feel healed and I have this amazing woman to thank for being there just for me. From the bottom of my heart I will always be grateful to her for holding space and allowing me to bring my daughter into the world the way it was intended... with the power of my body and breath."
